Basil - Lettuce Leaf
Botanical name: Ocimum basilicum
An attractive basil with very large soft, slightly crinkled leaves.
Small white flowers appear in summer. Remove these to encourage production of more leaves.
Does well in pots on balconies and patios.
Uses for Lettuce Leaf Basil
An ideal variety for making pesto. Use in salads and sandwiches. Add to cooked dishes towards the end of cooking to preserve the flavour.
