Mint - Peppermint
Botanical name: Mentha x piperita
Peppermint is a spreading perennial with dark green, toothed leaves. Pale pink flowers appear in summer.
Using Peppermint
Peppermint has a cooling, slightly numbing taste and although it can be too dominant for general cooking it can be used to flavour sweet foods.
It can help digestion when made into a herbal tea.
Prefers part shade.
Grows 20-30cm high.
